Course Description:
For women who are at any stage of their pregnancy, who want to incorporate yoga into part of their pregnancy self-care. Focus will be on safe, mindful alignment in easeful postures for mum and baby, incorporating movement, breath-work, and mindfulness in each class.  Your teacher, Sarah (quals. bio info to come), has extensive yoga teaching qualifications specific to pre-postal yoga. She will compassionately guide & adapt your yoga giving you options that suit you and baby's needs.  

***Note: Minimum of 5 persons to run courses - max. 8 persons/class

This course will be a journey through 6 weeks of your pregnancy, to give you a true idea of what yoga is about in a holistic sense. You will learn how yogic principles can apply to this exciting yet often overwhelming time of life. You will be given strategies to help embrace the bodily changes involved in pregnancy. All sequences will abide by the “golden rules” of yoga for pregnancy, keeping you and baby completely safe and supported throughout your practice. You will learn the basics of mindful alignment in safe asana (postures), calm the mind through meditation, and be guided through different pranayama (breath awareness) techniques. In this course we will move, strengthen, tone, breathe, play, and nourish both mum and baby. We will learn beyond the asana and how the other facets of yoga are just as important as the physical, and how we can tie all these elements together on and off our mats.

Remember you don’t need to be flexible or strong to do yoga, all levels of experience are welcome: whether you are completely new to yoga or have been practicing for years. Each week you will receive handouts (email or printed) to assist with home practice. With the same people each week (max. 8) there is an opportunity to connect and share your journey with other mums to be.
