Beginners Yoga Course with Emilie

For beginners (and any other persons) who want to learn the basic foundations of yoga with focus on an inquiry into mindful alignment in easeful postures, incorporating movement, breath-work, and mindfulness in each class. Your qualified & passionate teacher, Emilie Logan, will guide & adapt your yoga giving you options that suit your needs. The course theme, content and style progresses over 9 weeks, giving you the opportunity to understand the meaning of each posture or flow sequence & of course the opportunity to practise your yoga with more confidence. 

"It will also take you on a journey through the 8 limbs of yoga (as outlined by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras), to give you a true idea of what yoga is about in a holistic sense. You will learn the basics of mindful alignment in asana (postures), calm the mind through meditation, and tune in to the flow of your body through breathwork, amongst other themes and topics relating to the 8 limbs. In this course we will move, strengthen, tone, breathe, play, nourish and ground ourselves. We will learn beyond the asana and how the other facets of yoga are just as important as the physical, and how we can tie all these elements together on and off our mats." Remember you don’t need to be flexible or strong to do yoga, & some injuries can be worked around!!!  

Notes
  • All classes will be streamed live online. 
  • Emilie will be able to offer feedback & adapt to your needs during your class if you have a webcam. 
  • Should you happen to miss a class due to technical or personal difficulties, you will have access to a recording of your missed class for a period of up to 48 hours after each class missed. Recordings are emailed via a personal link for you view online and will be deleted after 48 hours. 
  • Each week you will be emailed resources relating to your course to assist with your home practice.
  • With the same people each week (Max 10/course) there is an opportunity to connect with others and receive as much personalised attention as you like.
  • You will have the option to join our Yoga by Karma VIP facebook group where there even more resources available.
  • Should the studio be permitted to open, there will be some places available to attend in studio. The number of persons permitted into the studio could be anywhere from 5-8 persons, depending on Covid-19 Alert Level Criteria. As we are endorsed by ExerciseNZ Yoga by Karma has up-to-date information of these regulations, and we will be adhering to them. We will be informing everyone of this option to attend in studio as soon as we know.
  • If the studio is permitted to open, classes will still be streamed live online and you will still have access to the recordings for up to 48 hours after each class.
